Arthur Fernandes was born in Londrina on March 3rd, 1977. He started his musical studies in the marching band of Colégio Estadual Marcelino Champagnat in 1989. In 1993, he started his studies with Cícero Cordão
He has taken part in several courses and festivals, among them:
Musical festivals in Londrina, Brasília, São João da Boa Vista, Curitiba, Belo Horizonte and Campinas, under the guidance of Naílson Simões, Anor Luciano Jr., Ayrton Benck, Charles Schlueter (Boston Symphony), Fernando Dissenha, Fred Mills (ex-member of "Canadian Brass") and Malte Burba (Germany).
He has taken part in recordings and concerts by Orquestra Sinfônica da Universidade Estadual de Londrina, under conductor Norton Morozowicz.
For many years he was the teacher of one of the most important metal groups in Brazil, the marching band of Colégio Marcelino Champagnat, acting also as a trumpeter.
He has taken part in the recording of music of several kinds and he plays in groups, both classical and popular. With one of these groups, he went on a tour around Europe in 1997.
He performed with Fred Mills in several chamber music concerts in the states of Paraná and São Paulo in 2001.
As a teacher, he took part in the 1st and 2nd musical festivals in Ourinhos-SP, in 2001 and 2002, and the musical festival of Palmas, in 2006.
Besides being a member of Quinteto Metais do Paraná, he currently works as a teacher, is the lead trumpet in the Big Band Londrina, and has performed solo with ParanáBrass. He also takes part in Duo Brasil, a trumpet and piano duo.
