Quinteto Metais do Paraná - QMP was formed in 1993 when Cícero Cordão arrived in Londrina. Soon after that, in 1994, trumpeter Arthur Fernandes joined the group, followed by musicians Gilberto de Queiroz (1999), Marcelo das Virgens (2000) and Luiz Ricardo Serralheiro (July of 2004).

Over the years, the quintet has performed in several different places and with distinct objectives, such as didactical, festive, outdoor and gala concerts in theaters in several cities in the state of Paraná. QMP has kept itself up to date by sharing the stage with important national and international musicians on many concerts.
As for its repertoire, the quintet has played the works of different composers and styles, from the traditional to the most innovative ones, always trying to promote original quintet metal music and, in doing so, encouraging composers to increase the of music for this kind of ensemble.
QMP is involved in an educational project that offers dynamic and informative workshops for students of all ages. The workshops are specially thought-up to meet the needs of specific groups, emphasizing professional musical development, child music teaching as well as offering tips on how a person can develop their full potential as a musician.
