Cicero Cordao was born in Itoporanga, Paraíba on December 18th, 1970, where he started his musical studies in 1983 with the local musical band. In 1986 he moved to João Pessoa, where he continued his musical studies by taking an extension course at Universidade Federal da Paraíba in the class of professor Gláucio Xavier.
He majored in music (trumpet) from UFPB in 1992 in the class of professor Nailson Simões (PhD in the USA). In his career, he has taken part in all major music courses and festivals in Brazil, always performing as first trumpeter, both in orchestras and as a soloist. On those occasions he had the guidance of renowned national and international professors, such as Charles Schulueter (principal trumpeter in Boston Symphony Orchestra), Fred Mills (Ex Canadian Brass), Nailson Simões, Anor Luciano, Gilberto Siqueira, Fernando Dissenha and Ayrton Benck. He has also shared the stage with said professors on several occasions.
He has experience in orchestra dating back to 1986, when he joined the youngsters symphonic orchestra of Paraíba. Since then he has been a member of several orchestras and has worked with renowned national and international conductors.
As a soloist, he has performed with several orchestras. He has also performed in a duo of trumpet and piano since 1994 and he has given recitals in the states of Paraná and Santa Catarina. He won the Solista Osuel contest in 1993. He has been on tour to several cities in Brazil and Argentina. As a teacher, he has acted as assistant to UFPB (during his academic years), to Festival de Música de Assis in 1996, to the 3rd and 4th Festival de Musica de Ourinhos (2003/2004), to Banda de Metais do Colégio Marcelino Champagnat (Londrina-PR), which on several occasions won state and federal contests, to several bands and to educational concerts, among others. Since 1993 he has offered his own trumpet course to several students.
He has also taken part, as a referee, in several national, state and local marching band contests.
He has taken part in the recording of important CDs, both in the classical and in the popular areas.
Currently he is a trumpeter in Orquestra Sinfônica da Universidade Estadual de Londrina, Big Band Londrina, Quinteto Metais do Paraná and Duo Londrina de Trompete e Piano, with pianist Luciana Gastaldi, and several other temporary groups..
